Job Description

As our Market Development Manager for China, you'll play a key role in growing the BRCGS business across one of our most important growth markets. You'll identify new commercial opportunities, strengthen relationships with Certification Bodies and key industry partners, and help manufacturers and exporters demonstrate compliance with internationally recognised standards.

Reporting to the Regional Head of BRCGS North Asia, you'll work collaboratively with Commercial, Marketing, Technical and Product teams to translate commercial strategy into measurable business growth across China.

YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Developing and delivering commercial growth plans across China, finding opportunities to expand BRCGS adoption in priority sectors.
  • Building strong relationships with Certification Bodies, manufacturers, exporters and strategic partners to improve market penetration and commercial performance.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, particularly with organisations supplying international retailers, brands and food manufacturers.
  • Managing a healthy sales pipeline, maintaining accurate forecasts and CRM records, and delivering against ambitious commercial targets.
  • Working with Certification Bodies to increase market activity, improve partner engagement and maximise certification growth.
  • Analysing customer insight, competitor activity and market trends to find opportunities and strengthen BRCGS' competitive position.
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Technical, Product and Commercial colleagues to deliver campaigns, events and customer engagement activities focused on the Chinese consumer base.
  • Representing BRCGS at customer meetings, industry events and conferences across China.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who enjoys developing markets, building trusted relationships and delivering measurable commercial results.

YOU'LL BRING:

  • Experience in business development, market development, sales or growing commercial opportunities within the Chinese market.
  • A consistent record of achieving commercial growth within a B2B services environment.
  • Experience within certification, assurance, testing, inspection, compliance, food safety or a related industry would be advantageous.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with customers, Certification Bodies, strategic partners or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial competence, with experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting opportunities and achieving business objectives.
  • The ability to interpret market trends and customer insights and translate them into practical commercial plans.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams and influencing successful outcomes in a partner-led environment.
  • Professional fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across China and occasionally internationally to support business needs.
