Brown Brothers Harriman is currently looking for a Market Analyst to help drive revenue growth for our Infomediary® Data Solutions (IDS) business. IDS offers a suite of solutions for BBH clients in the data and digital space leveraging our Infomediary platform, which brings together our data management technology and managed services to help clients take full command of their data. Infomediary Data Solutions makes data useable for businesses by designing, building, and maintaining custom master data domains that drive the processes and systems that run our client's operating models. The Market Analyst will be part of the Markets Analytics team, who act as our centralized hub of market data and analytics around our product and industry. They will be responsible for business analysis, market research, and product development across IDS products, and will require occasional project management work.

In this role, the Market Analyst will lead with a market-centric focus, gathering and publishing competitive intelligence and market research around the Data Product landscape. The Market Analytics team is responsible for gathering and documenting intelligence critical to shape our business and product roadmaps and maintains a strong awareness and documentation on market trends and emerging technologies. The Market Analyst will partner with the Product Management and Client Solutions teams to ensure the appropriate decisions are made related to technology development, partnerships and collaborations with external service providers, and client product requests. To be successful in this role, the Market Analyst will require a deep understanding of the financial services industry and a deep knowledge of industry trends to help influence our product roadmaps.

Overall Responsibilities & Areas of Focus

Business Analysis

  • Conduct business analysis for a variety of client projects and initiatives, focusing on understanding client product needs, analyzing challenges, exploring available technology, and creating innovative solutions using our tools and technologies to address the challenges.
    • Apply industry knowledge and standards to BBH's products and client workflows to ensure the most efficient and effective client solutions.
    • Identify gaps in current products or processes and prepare recommendations for improvements.
    • Support 'Voice of Client' initiatives, by gathering and understanding client and prospect feedback, preferences and needs, to incorporate into business strategies and decisions that influence our product roadmap.
    • Support Product Analysis initiatives for the Product Management and Client Solutions teams

Market Research

  • Leverage a strong understanding of industry standard messaging and communication protocols which are highly leveraged as part of the IDS BBH business.
  • Research, analyze, and summarize information about critical market and regulatory changes in the Financial Service industry that could impact the IDS product roadmap and product suite.
  • Use knowledge of industry trends to build and drive critical functionality into our applications.
  • Gather and document intelligence on market trends critical to shape our business and product roadmaps (competitors, market peers, regulatory, massage standards, etc.)
  • Support in creating a library of well documented market information available to the IDS community to support product design.
  • Strong awareness and documentation on market trends and emerging tech (i.e Cloud, streaming)

Product Development

  • Conduct and coordinate business analysis efforts for projects and initiatives. Determine how changing business needs will affect the system, product, process, and solution. Describe the business need and potential solutions in terms that both business and technical teams can understand.
  • Occasionally, manage small projects and/or workstreams and apply project management processes to administer, organize, monitor, and control program/project activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding and experience in the Financial Services Data Product landscape.
  • Preferred experience in SQL and data management and reporting tools
  • Preferred global regulatory experience (T+1, reg reporting, TSRs)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clarity and strong influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5+ years' experience directly related to financial services business or technology expertise.
