The role
The Market Analyst will have experience within power markets and a desire to apply their knowledge and expertise to help produce industry-leading analysis that supports customers and the wider energy transition.
On top of this, they will collaborate with Modo Energy’s data, modelling, and product teams to help plan and build data analytics products that will revolutionise workflows across the power industry.
This role offers a successful candidate the opportunity to become an influential thought leader in the space by applying Modo Energy’s tools and their expertise to generate industry insights.
Successful candidates will be positioned to have a substantial influence on the company (and, by extension, the industry) as we expand our research and product offerings across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Producing data-led, analytical insights about power markets, asset operations, and Modo Energy’s view of the future in a variety of formats, mainly written articles and videos.
- Staying up to date with the latest news across markets and policy, communicating this within the company and to the wider industry.
- Engaging with active users and prospects to build a network that serves as a two-way street for information, the successful candidate will introduce people within the industry to Modo Energy or help them understand Modo Energy’s insights and offerings, and will lean on those industry connections to learn about key topics in power markets.
- 2+ years of professional working experience in power markets, energy trading, energy infrastructure finance, or energy policy.
- In-depth knowledge of how the electricity system works, preferably with experience in battery energy storage operations across Europe.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. You’ll be relied upon to discover, explore, visualise, and communicate trends and patterns in data.
- Experience in writing clearly and concisely, communicating complex topics into accessible, jargon-free language.
- Strong critical thinking skills. You will have the platform to become an influential thought leader in the renewable energy space, but you’ll need to develop your own opinions and ask questions of those around you.
- Strongly preferred:
- Experience carrying out data analysis in Python.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience in Italian, Polish or Nordic power markets.
- Italian/Polish/Nordic language skills.

- We are an in-person company that values collaboration and team culture. Everyone works in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility to work from home or the office on Mondays and Fridays.
