Job Summary

This position is responsible for the Ontario Moët Hennessy portfolio pertaining to the overall planning and execution of marketing activities and the shared sales objective results of assigned brands within the Moët Hennessy portfolio.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Based in the Mississauga Charton Hobbs office, the Marketing Activation Manager will report to the Moët Hennessy Senior Regional Market Manager. The position may require evening and weekend work in connection with specific events, in addition to normal daytime job functions, which are split between both in-market and in-office requirements. Your time will be split between office work and in the field. A moderate level of variable annual domestic and international travel is necessary for this position.

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

Marketing and Strategic Planning

  • Develop the provincial marketing plans for assigned Moët Hennessy (MH) brands consistent with the guidelines provided by Maisons and the National Brand Managers, complete monthly activation reports, and provide market updates as required.
  • Execute creative strategy around new product launches and execution in market.
  • Implement and measure the effectiveness of marketing activities and event strategies against predetermined and agreed national or regional KPI measurements, with the support of Senior Regional Market Manager.
  • Work closely with the National Brand Marketing teams and local Charton Hobbs teams to develop and implement customer-driven initiatives.


Sales Collaboration and Execution

  • Once plans are created and approved, liaise with the Senior Regional Market Manager, Moët Hennessy, and the sales team on a regular basis to implement strategies with the sales team.
  • Define and maintain the core Moët Hennessy portfolio brands' strategic account lists for on-premises, retail, and boutique accounts with the sales team, ensuring that quarterly updates of listing status are completed.
  • Partner with the local sales team to grow brand presence in key on-premise and retail accounts, identifying new opportunities in the market.
  • Create and build account relationships through support, activation, and training.
  • For assigned brands, determine with the sales team the required input resources to be allocated to core and targeted on- and off-premises accounts, and track spending plans versus planned objectives. Recommend any required spending adjustments based on account performance.


Event Activation and Brand Presence

  • Plan, organize, and execute field-level activations on Moët Hennessy brands with the support of the Charton Hobbs sales team.
  • POSM management (ordering and warehouse management), coordinate POSM pick-up and delivery for various brand activations, and upkeep and/or repair of branded parade tools and MH visibility items.
  • POSM creation via local suppliers.
  • Support the National team in large-scale event management and PR activations.


Product Knowledge and Account Management

  • Specialize in corporate and luxury brand account sales for Ontario.
  • Responsible for product knowledge, training, product personalization, and using both local and Maison-available resources for the Ontario sales team, accounts, targeted high-net-worth-individual groups, or other clients of the complete MH portfolio of brands.
  • Obtain comprehensive knowledge of all MH brand guidelines, logo usage, cropping guides, and image rights verification.
  • Act as a face and ambassador of the brand at key events and partner locations, supporting training, brand speeches, and local appearances.
  • Support the Senior RMM with operational tasks related to managing the LCBO Spirits Category team.


Procurement and Physical Requirements

  • Responsible for procurement (including deposits and securing raw materials/goods and services).
  • Physical demands of the role include handling warehouse materials related to events (cases of glasses, ice buckets, etc.). May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40+ pounds.

Additional Information

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or higher, Marketing, Business Administration majors preferred, or 3 or more years of relevant luxury wine and spirit industry experience or related luxury product-oriented companies
  • Available for evening and weekend events as may be required (sometimes on short notice), as well as both local and international travel
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
  • Established Ontario trade contacts both on and off premises is a plus
  • Spirit and wine sales or marketing experience
  • WSET Level 2 or above, and related spirits certifications are a plus
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver’s License
