Job Summary

As the Marine Systems Lead, you will ensure the readiness and optimization of nautical and technical systems, including the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and other crucial fleetwide marine systems. You will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of systems, collaborating with shipboard teams and external partners, driving efficiency and safety, while ensuring seamless fleetwide operations.

Essential Functions

  • Collect all relevant ship-specific documentation such as certificates, manuals, drawings, and data before their implementation within the planned maintenance system / PMS.
  • Suggest possible improvements to improve the quality of the planned maintenance system.
  • Create and maintain a maintenance structure, which will be based on ship-specific documents and data.
  • Provide a connection between the ship-specific maintenance schemes and the equipment structure of the planned maintenance system.
  • Ensure the implementation of the relevant vessel certificates within the planned maintenance system.
  • Continuously monitor, implement, and optimize the Planned Maintenance System and other Marine Systems functionalities on the vessels in operations.
  • Sustain, update, and implement the failure mode effect analysis study on the associated assets.
  • Liaise/consult with internal and external stakeholders, including maritime and external bodies, to ensure the required levels of knowledge and consultation underpin all strategic decisions for asset management.
  • Ensure that all new and existing projects are being developed through an asset management project framework and are subject to the required management of change process and investment appraisal procedures.
  • Own the process to ensure a consistent, standardized approach to assets management by all users of the associated systems and audit the ships and systems to ensure these standards are met.
  • Analyses and presents scientific data and does quality-control checks for continuous internal review.
  • Content Management: populate systems with essential data, ensuring systems are fully operational and contain accurate, actionable information.
  • Vendor and Team Coordination: Drive and direct vendors and the shipboard team to address any obstacles and meet readiness benchmarks, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Reporting Systems Management: Ensure reporting functions, such as electronic logbooks, are integrated and operational, adhering to marine operations priorities.
  • Establishes and maintains strong and effective internal communications, including regular department meetings to ensure optimum teamwork and productivity.
  • Ensures that all cost control procedures are effectively executed to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.

Competency

  • A marine bachelor’s or higher degree, or must have held a licensed position on-board as a marine officer
  • Cruise industry experience
  • Proven asset lifecycle management experience preferred
  • Experience managing marine systems in a marine environment
  • Experience with NAPA products
  • Experience with e-mustering systems
  • Experience with Issuetrax
  • Travel is required, including internationally.

Calling on unique and distinguished destinations alike, most voyages range from seven to ten nights, offering many overnight calls and uniquely curated experiences ashore. Each yacht will feature 149 suites, each with its own private terrace, and accommodate up to 298 guests in a relaxed, casually elegant atmosphere. As with The Ritz-Carlton® on land, each yacht will feature personalized service, elevated dining and luxury amenities. The yachts are also available for private charter.
