Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer to work in Ketchikan, AK.
We are seeking a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer to provide on-site owner representation at the Ketchikan, AK shipyard. In this role, you will oversee critical vessel repair and major modification periods, ensuring all industrial work aligns strictly with contract specifications and regulatory mandates. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in shipboard mechanical systems and a strong background in maritime quality assurance.
This is a temporary (no more than 12 months), on-site position located in Ketchikan, Alaska. The Qualified candidate will be eligible for Per Diem (meals, lodging, and incidental expenses) in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations for the entirety of the on-site assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipyard Oversight: Serve as the primary on-site owner representative; supervise the modification, renewal, and repair of main and auxiliary shipboard systems (pumps, fans, valves, and mechanical components).
- Test & Inspection: Attend official tests, sea trials, and quality inspections to verify that all mechanical repairs meet contract standards and engineering criteria.
- Requirements Management: Map complex end-user requirements to holistic engineering methodologies, safeguarding against missing design criteria or regulatory oversights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with on-site technical oversight personnel to ensure seamless integration of cross-disciplinary systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Confirm all modifications comply with project specifications, classification society rules (e.g., ABS), and federal maritime standards (USCG).
- Technical Reporting: Develop, document, and present clear technical materials and project briefings to key stakeholders for streamlined decision-making.
