Amentum is seeking a Marina Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Marina Manager will be responsible for the management, administration, and operation of marina facilities supporting MWR programs. This position oversees recreational boating operations, equipment rentals, facility maintenance, and marina programming while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the marina, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer focused services.
- Direct and coordinate marina activities, including boating, equipment rental, vessel storage, docking operations, and facility management.
- Develop, implement, and oversee marina programs that promote recreational boating, boating safety, and customer engagement.
- Serve as an instructor and trainer in small craft handling for both sail and power vessels.
- Conduct sailing instruction and coordinate advanced boating education programs for patrons and staff.
- Ensure compliance with all MWR policies, boating regulations, environmental requirements, and safety standards.
- Monitor the inspection, maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of marina facilities, docks, equipment, and small craft.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance scheduled for marina equipment and vessel fleets.
- Supervise marina personnel, including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, mentoring, and evaluating staff performance.
- Provide leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
- Respond to customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Develop and maintain emergency response procedures and ensure staff are trained to respond effectively to accidents and emergencies.
- Promote safe boating practices through educational programs, inspections, and routine safety briefings.
- Ensure marina facilities remain clean, organized, secure, and operational.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Marina Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of (5) years of responsible experience managing or supervising marina operations, preferably within U.S. Navy MWR programs.
- Current certification, or ability to obtain certification as:
- Instructor/Trainer in Small Craft Handling
- Basic Sailing Instructor
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a customer focused environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
