The Manufacturing Supervisor is expected to actively manage the business throughout the shift—not simply react to issues. This includes understanding performance hour by hour, identifying gaps to plan, taking timely corrective action, escalating barriers, and ensuring effective communication across shifts and support functions.
The successful supervisor creates a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement while developing employees and maintaining high operational standards.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S and established workplace standards.
Operational Performance
- Own execution of the daily production plan and understand the shift's performance against established targets.
- Monitor production hour by hour and take corrective action when performance falls below plan.
- Manage key operating metrics including OEE, earned hours, units per hour, schedule attainment, downtime, first-pass yield, scrap/rework, and labor performance, as applicable to the assigned area.
- Identify production constraints involving staffing, tooling, equipment, material, quality, work orders, setup, or process issues and drive timely resolution.
- Develop and execute recovery plans when the shift is behind plan.
- Ensure production transactions and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
People Leadership
- Provide clear expectations and daily direction to employees at the beginning of and throughout the shift.
- Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and workplace expectations.
- Coach employees through performance issues and recognize strong performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development plans.
- Partner with Training and Operations leadership to ensure new employees successfully progress through established first-week, 30-day, and 60-day expectations.
- Identify employee skill gaps and coordinate cross-training to improve flexibility and coverage.
- Build a culture based on Trust, Accountability, Ownership, and Respect.
Shift Management & Communication
- Conduct effective shift-start and Tier meetings focused on safety, staffing, production priorities, quality concerns, and operational risks.
- Maintain accurate end-of-shift reporting covering safety, staffing, productivity, quality, downtime, and recovery actions.
- Ensure strong shift-to-shift handoffs so priorities, risks, equipment conditions, and open actions are clearly communicated.
- Escalate issues early when additional support is required rather than allowing problems to affect delivery.
Continuous Improvement
- Use data to identify recurring losses, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen, 5S, standard work, and problem-solving efforts.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Materials, Tool Crib, and other support functions to eliminate barriers to production.
- Support implementation and sustainment of corrective actions and process improvements.
- Encourage employees to identify problems and participate in solutions.

Ichor Systems, Inc. Insights
What We Do
We are a leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of critical fluid delivery subsystems and components for semiconductor capital equipment. Our product offerings include gas and chemical delivery systems and subsystems, collectively known as fluid delivery systems and subsystems, which are key elements of the process tools used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices. Our gas delivery subsystems deliver, monitor, and control precise quantities of the specialized gases used in semiconductor manufacturing processes such as etch and deposition. Our chemical delivery systems and subsystems precisely blend and dispense the reactive liquid chemistries used in semiconductor manufacturing processes such as chemical-mechanical planarization, electroplating, and cleaning. We also provide precision-machined components, weldments, e‑beam and laser-welded components, precision vacuum and hydrogen brazing and surface treatment technologies, and other proprietary products. This vertically integrated portion of our business is primarily focused on metal and plastic parts that are used in gas and chemical systems, respectively. We are strategically located to provide the highest level of customer service and support from our program management, sales, engineering, and executive management teams. Ichor is headquartered in Fremont, California, and we have production facilities in California, Oregon, Texas, Nevada, Minnesota, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Mexico, and the UK, staffed by our 2000+ team members.
