Sensus, a Xylem brand has groundbreaking technology that sets a new standard in water distribution system management - (Onsite Position)The Sensus Manufacturing Quality Supervisor is the champion of quality at our DuBois, PA facility—leading, developing, and empowering a team of 7–9 Quality Technicians to protect what matters most: trust, reliability, and continuous improvement. This role sets the tone for accountability, excellence, and pride in every product we build.The Supervisor develops, implements, and maintains quality control processes and procedures, ensuring full compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. This position leads regular audits, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions, leveraging quality data and metrics to identify trends, reduce risk, and improve overall manufacturing performance.Responsibilities:Quality Control:
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures and protocols
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections
- Investigate and resolve any quality issues or defects
- Train and supervise quality control staff
- Monitor and analyze production processes to ensure quality standards are met
Quality Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Analyze data and identify trends to suggest and implement process improvements
- Develop and maintain quality improvement plans
- Conduct root cause analysis for any quality issues and implement corrective actions
Reporting and Compliance:
- Provide regular reports and updates on quality metrics to management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes and procedures
- Communicate any changes in quality standards or regulations to relevant departments.
Team Management:
- Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.
- Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.
- Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.
- Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.
- Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing quality experience
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) principles focus on a systematic, blame-free investigation to find underlying causes
- People leadership experience
- (Preferred) bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
- Leadership by Example: Supervisors should model the behavior they expect from their team. This includes demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to the organization’s values.
- Team Engagement and Development: Supervisors need to actively engage their team members, recognizing their strengths and providing opportunities for skill development. This also involves offering constructive feedback and fostering a supportive team environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Supervisors should strive for continuous improvement in processes, ensuring that the team works efficiently and effectively. This includes setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and adapting strategies as necessary.
