The Product Design Engineering Supervisor will coordinate and contribute to the creation and analysis of structural designs and technical documentation for HOLT Manufacturing products. The position is responsible for management of designs through the product life cycle.

Essential Functions
- Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Assists with strategic development of facility and/or campus where responsible value streams are located
- Collaborates with various teams throughout the organization to support continued stability, growth, and provide technical support
- Leads and coordinates team to deliver successful projects, provides support as needed
- Leads reviews of project technical specifications with collaborating engineering and operations team members to develop/define product concepts
- Prioritizes team workload and define project design schedules to meet manufacturing build commitments
- Defines structural specifications, loading limits, stress and fatigue points, etc. through analysis
- Modifies drawings to incorporate customer, manufacturing, and technical changes
- Creates or modifies HOLT Manufacturing product designs and technical documents (bill of materials (BOM), product support procedures)
- Reviews and verifies product designs and bill of materials with operations to determine project meets safety, manufacturability, and quality objectives
- Applies knowledge and experience with design and manufacturability of variety of HOLT Manufacturing products
- Conducts and completes employee evaluations on or before due dates
- Assists in creating or modifying fixturing, jigs and tooling
- Practices on-going self-development
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technical skill and knowledge of mechanical engineering, including mechanism, hydraulic, pneumatic and thermal engineering
- Strong SolidWorks design background with a focus on mechanical sheet metal parts, structural weldments, FEA utilizing simulation, and PDM works
- Experience in water or fuel tank design and applicable UL standards
- Ability to create design and support documentation
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to produce information in spreadsheets, documents, forms, tables, and presentations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required
- Five years of product design experience required, seven years preferred
- SolidWorks, ProE, AutoCAD, Ansys etc.
- NRTL standard compliance and certification preferred
- Previous experience in leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring others preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
- Up to 10% travel required
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladder
- Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Noise level may be loud at times
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure fluids, and high speed rotating equipment
- Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- Five years of product design experience
- Strong SolidWorks design background (sheet metal, structural weldments)
