ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing operations through process optimization, equipment improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on increasing efficiency, reducing waste and downtime, improving product quality, and supporting safe, reliable production processes.

This position is well-suited for recent engineering graduates or early-career engineers looking to build hands-on manufacturing and process improvement experience in a fast-paced production environment. We welcome candidates with internship, co-op, or relevant manufacturing experience who are eager to grow their engineering and continuous improvement skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to increase throughput, reduce scrap, improve uptime/OEE, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Identify and support implementation of process improvements, equipment modifications, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Assist with equipment installations, process changes, and production optimization projects from concept through implementation.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and improve process capability.
  • Conduct process studies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities using data-driven methods.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering specifications as needed.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of new materials, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Utilize statistical and analytical tools to evaluate process performance and validate improvements.
  • Support capital projects, vendor coordination, equipment commissioning, and ongoing production support.
  • Promote Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical and operational expertise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Internship, co-op, or prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or training is a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals.
  • Experience with process simulation or engineering analysis software (Ansys or similar) is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field required
  • 0–2+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, continuous improvement, internships, co-ops, or industrial operations environments.
  • Equivalent combination of education and applicable manufacturing/process experience will also be considered.

Skills Required
