Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is looking for you to join us as a Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems) located on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL. This position will support product build in a dynamic, fast-paced and technically challenging environment in support of Radio Frequency systems, requiring collaboration across functional groups.

Building a strong professional relationship with other Manufacturing disciplines (Process Engineering, Project Management, Shop Operations, Mission Assurance), strong decision-making skills and a high-level ethical standard is essential.

What you will get to do:

This position will include providing process support for the manufacture of the Shop Replaceable Units from received Circuit Cards, as well as supporting assembly into a payload (Line Replaceable Unit). This position will support aerial, military-grade, or space-grade Electronic Warfare Systems and Subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development/Maintenance: Generate and maintain/revise Manufacturing Engineering Process Specifications, Work Instructions, Routers, Tooling/Fixturing and Equipment.

  • Support to Production: To meet manufacturing contractual commitment, coordinate with Design Engineering, Production technician, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to meet manufacturing contractual commitment. Investigate, design, and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures.

  • Continuous improvement: Review of quality metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, defects.

  • Producibility reviews: Collaborate with design engineering to achieve producibility in new and updated product design.

  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.

This position is contingent upon funding/contract award.

 Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems):

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related STEM degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's degree in equivalent fields.

  • Experience interpreting drawings and specifications.

  • Experience in creating process work instructions, developing/improving manufacturing processes, and/or working in a design or systems environment with limited assistance.

  • United States citizenship required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications for the Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems):

  • Prior experience with Root Cause Corrective Action methods.

  • Experience/or education in use of the DMAIC process.

  • Experience with fixture/tooling design and implementation.

  • Experience with Nx/CAD or experience supporting design/development projects.

  • Prior experience troubleshooting Circuit Card Assemblies.

  • Experience performing earned value/CAM efforts

  • Active DoD Security Clearance but not required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
