Operations Manager
Falkirk, Scotland, United Kingdom
Highly competitive salary plus benefits

Our vision is to Create Better Places and Futures for Everyone; Socially, Environmentally and Economically. For us, these aren’t words on paper. This is our powerful and purposeful statement that guides our actions and ignites a passion in every one of us. We’ve been paving the way since 1890. Our passion for our products and customers has made us a Superbrand that is synonymous with quality; supplying prestigious landmarks such as Trafalgar Square, while also caring for the environment and communities in which we operate.
Manufacturing is at the heart of our operation. It’s where we fulfil our customer promise, proudly producing the UK’s leading landscaping, building, and roofing products. Our Falkirk site is central to this success, defined by a fantastic team and a commitment to high standards. We’re now looking for an inspiring, forward-thinking Operations Manager to join our site leadership team and help us in driving this successful manufacturing site into its next chapter.

So what's the mission?
Working in partnership with the Site Operations Manager, you’ll focus on driving site operational activities, compliance, SHEQ, and continuous improvement. Leading from the front, you will balance strategic planning with site-wide engagement, analysing production processes to streamline efficiency and elevate standards.
Your real impact will be on our culture. We’re looking for someone who can develop a performance driven environment centred on ownership, accountability, and transparency. To achieve this, you’ll engage the hearts and minds of our colleagues, inspiring a proactive, safety-first mindset across the site. Through consistent coaching and mentoring, you’ll ensure our people feel supported and empowered to develop.
You’ll bring a track record of leadership from a fast-paced manufacturing background. You understand that excellent operational metrics are built on great relationships, combining technical competence and compliance with a natural, engaging communication style. You are someone who knows how to manage change effectively and bring diverse teams along with you.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • At least two years of experience leading teams within a medium to large, automated industrial manufacturing environment, ideally with a proven track record of working effectively within a unionised setting
  • A thorough understanding of safety, quality, and best practice housekeeping standards, with an IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate being highly desirable
  • Experience managing budgets, CAPEX programmes, and delivering capital projects successfully
  • The ability to use data, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of OEE to drive informed decisions and track performance
  • A collaborative and proactive leadership style, with the ability to communicate across all levels, resolve issues constructively, and build customer confidence
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques, such as DMAIC, would be a significant bonus
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable
