Role Overview
This internship focuses on supporting digital manufacturing initiatives with a strong emphasis on Tulip visual work instructions, quality inspections, dashboards, and data analytics. Approximately 75% of the role is dedicated to Tulip-based digital tools, process standardization, and data visibility, with additional exposure to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tulip Visual Work Instructions & Digital Standards
- Develop and maintain standardized visual work instructions in Tulip across manufacturing areas.
- Implement standard formats for steps, visuals, decision logic, and data capture.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to validate usability and accuracy.
- Update work instructions as processes evolve.
2. Quality Inspections & Criteria in Tulip
- Build digital quality inspection steps and acceptance criteria in Tulip.
- Translate quality standards into pass/fail logic and defect categorization.
- Support analysis of inspection and defect data.
3. Dashboards, Displays & Data Visualization
- Design and build Tulip dashboards to visualize production and quality metrics.
- Implement real-time and historical data displays.
- Structure data from Tulip tables and databases for reporting.
4. Data Analytics, Process & Data Mapping
- Analyze production and testing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support process mapping and data mapping activities.
- Identify bottlenecks, variation, and performance gaps.
5. Digital Tool & Form Development
- Develop standardized digital forms for data entry and compliance.
- Support implementation of digital documentation and tracking tools.
6. Training, Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with documenting training materials and standardized work.
- Support onboarding documentation to reduce training time and variability.
- Maintain documentation updates as improvements are implemented.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Interest in digital manufacturing systems and data analytics.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Tulip, MES, or digital manufacturing tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes or quality systems.
- Basic knowledge of data visualization or analytics tools.
