Job Description:

The Manufacturing Finance Manager is a critical business partner responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strategic support across manufacturing operations. This role supports period close activities, partners cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing, and supports key initiatives including capital project evaluation, standard costing, and tax incentive tracking. The position may also serve as a financial co-pilot to manufacturing sites, providing leadership and decision support.

This role is based in BRN, Brentwood, TN, with regular in-office collaboration expected. Flexibility is a key enabler, empowering associates to make choices that support both business outcomes and personal needs, including occasional remote work.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in finance/accounting

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

  • Understanding of cost and management accounting systems and processes, capital project evaluation, and analytical techniques.

  • Financial Insights and Analysis – management of systems and processes to produce high-quality financial information, the application of analytical techniques to derive critical insights from this information, and the effective communication of financial information and insights to the business.

  • Financial Processes – knowledge of and ability to design, implement, continually improve upon, and govern the standard financial processes in order to deliver efficient and effective financial operations with the right balance of cost, quality, control and service.

  • Financial Control – The knowledge and application of business processes, internal control concepts and practices, and auditing techniques to ensure cost-effective protection of business assets and approval of and governance over business activities at the appropriate level in the organization.

  • Financial Shaping and Decision Making – knowledge and application of financial shaping philosophy and development and implementation of processes and tools used to shape the financial performance of the business and evaluate the activities and investments involved in deploying strategy.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with company policies

  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and management reporting to support business decisions

  • Support periodic, quarterly, and annual close activities

  • Drive continuous improvement in close and reporting processes

  • Completes ad-hoc analyses as required

Manufacturing & Operations Finance

  • Provide financial analysis on manufacturing performance, including cost drivers, productivity, and operational efficiency

  • Support factory-level reporting through central consolidation of results across multiple sites

  • Partner with business leadership to interpret financial results and identify improvement opportunities

  • Potentially serve as financial lead (“co-pilot”) for one or more manufacturing sites

  • Support central tracking, documentation, and reporting of tax incentives related to manufacturing investments

  • Supports proper financial controls throughout the network

  • Completes ad-hoc analyses as required.

Capital Project & Engineering Partnership

  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to evaluate capital investments

  • Review and validate ROI models, including NPV, IRR, and payback analysis

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for capital expenditures and adherence to capitalization policies

  • Track capital spend vs. approved budgets and business cases

Standard Costing Support

  • Assist in the annual standard cost roll process, including cost updates for labor, materials, and overhead

  • Analyze cost variances and support operational teams in understanding drivers

  • Support cost accounting accuracy within ERP systems

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in finance/accounting.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
  • Understanding of cost and management accounting systems and processes.
  • Experience with capital project evaluation and analytical techniques (NPV, IRR, payback).
  • Experience producing financial reporting, variance analysis, and supporting period, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Knowledge of designing, implementing, and improving financial processes and controls.
  • Familiarity with standard costing processes and maintaining cost accuracy within ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights effectively and partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing.
