Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join them. You will report to the Site Manufacturing Engineering Director and have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

This position will lead a high-visibility transformation within our machining and support operations. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a major transition into our Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility shaping the future of how we build, scale, and innovate.

In this role, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team across machining, tool design, and special processes, while driving both operational performance and long-term strategic initiatives. You will play a critical role in capital planning, process optimization, and the implementation of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead your portion of the AIM transition: Plan and execute the transfer of machinery, tooling, and processes from the current campus location to the new AIM facility.

  • Manage and deliver tactical and operational plans with clear KPIs and measurable results.

  • Maintain a rolling 10‑year capital plan for your area of responsibility.

  • Oversee capital equipment selection, justification, acquisition, and onboarding.

  • Monitor Target vs. Actual performance for assigned parts and drive continuous improvement.

  • Help define and execute manufacturing engineering strategies aligned with site and divisional objectives.

  • Identify, justify, and implement process improvements (machining and non‑machining), including automation opportunities.

  • Establish and drive short‑term tactical and operational plans to meet production, quality, and schedule goals.

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineer experience, ideally in machining environments.

  • 3+ years of proven leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in machining environments.

  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver complex projects on schedule.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and stakeholders outside the immediate group and lead through change.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.

You would be a preferred candidate if you had:

  • Machining process optimization experience and a hands‑on machining background.

  • Experience identifying and leading automation initiatives.

  • Experience with quoting, estimating, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, and resource planning.

  • Understanding of Cost Account Manager responsibilities.

  • Manual CNC programming experience.

  • CAD and CAM programming experience.

  • Design for Manufacturing (DfM) mindset, GD&T, and blueprint reading.

  • Ability to build custom reports using SQL and Power BI.

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Teamcenter.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $140,000.00–$190,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
