The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within Revvity. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring that products are produced to meet quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be a key member of the management team and needs to collaborate with various departments to improve manufacturing processes, cost down initiatives and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety for the four production lines that include imaging, microfluidics, and liquid handling.

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance. Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment. Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency. Develop and manage the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Required Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation. GD&T knowledge is preferred.

  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks/CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools. Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in manufacturing operations.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • 5 years in leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment. Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation Range:

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-160,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
