Join our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern!
The Role:
We’re seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Summer 2027! This internship offers hands-on experience in the production of material handling equipment, where you’ll work on meaningful projects and gain insight into mechanical and industrial engineering principles. You’ll collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team, as well as mentors and leadership, building skills that will help launch your career!
This is a unique opportunity to grow your technical skills, gain real-world manufacturing experience, and contribute to Toyota’s legacy of excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Complete a summer project using the PDCA methodology focused on process improvement within the manufacturing facility.
- Implement a project solving a real-world problem on the production floor. This will include: investigation, design, prototype, and implementation.
- Collaborate with multiple departments within operations to drive productivity and deliver maximum value to our customers.
- Learn and apply Toyota Production Principles to increase efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Have the opportunity to become forklift certified.
What We’re Looking For:
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering or other Technical field
- Ability to understand layouts and design fixtures and tooling using Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia
- Prior internship, work experience, or club activity which demonstrates a desire for hands on learning
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Columbus, IN, for the duration of the Summer 2027 internship.
- Summer internship has the opportunity to extend to further co-op for the right candidate.

- This is an in-person role located at our Columbus, IN office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
What You’ll Get in Return:
Wage - $20.00 - $30.00+ per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
