The Role

What You Will Do

  • Ensure production documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Update Value Stream maps to determine bottle necks.
  • Create process for machine calibration.
  • Reduce scrap costs on new COS lines.
  • Increase uptime and reduce breakdowns.

How You Will Do It

  • Converting process specification documents to new format.
  • Updating Operator work instructions and description sheets for new equipment.
  • Creating process for conducting COS calibration with list of fixtures needed and documentation for use by plant engineers.
  • Identifying top scrap defects and work with Operations and Quality to identify root causes. Working with both Toledo and St Joseph plants to read across solutions.
  • Using Maintenance work order system pinpoint high frequency failures.

What We Look For

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering.
  • Duration: Summer 2026. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.
  • Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH.

What We Do Here

Our Toledo, Ohio fully integrated plant manufactures batteries used in

automotive and marine applications. This is our largest plant at Clarios. We

opened our facility in 1981 and now employ more than 610 people and operate

six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give

back through the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Cherry Street Mission and

Ronald McDonald House.
