Job Description

  

Teledyne Micropac is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will

develop, implement, maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.  

What you'll do

The essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair service following manufacturer’s recommendations and established procedures
  • Interfacing with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Establish a strong focus on internal and external customer service
  • Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems as required
  • Confers with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods
  • Confers with vendors to resolve equipment, materials and/or quality issues that are impacting the quality of the end product being produced
  • Applies statistical methods to analysis of key manufacturing processes and controls
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control process
  • Comprehensive understanding of product line designs and project cost make-up
  • Team player in pursuit and support of cost reduction activities to achieve company goals
  • Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction and work as part of a team
  • Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel “as required” to customer site(s) to provide technical support and training
  • Takes a lead role in the identification, purchase and implementation of new equipment utilized on the manufacturing floor

What you need

  • BS degree in engineering or related discipline with at least 3 to 5 years of direct or related experience - required
  • or minimum 8-10 years working experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related engineering position of responsibility with demonstrated engineering competency may be considered in place of formal college degree with associated experience
  • Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in execution of job responsibilities - required
  • Good interpersonal and training skills - required
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills - required
  • PC literate - required
  • Strong attention to detail - required
