WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Plan and perform a variety of duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment and facilities.

  • Advise and assist maintenance personnel in solving equipment problems and machine repairs and support the completion of equipment and facility enhancements to promote safety, quality, and cost/service improvements.

  • Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and plant efficiency improvements.

  • Work with operators, team leaders, value stream managers, and planners to optimize process center layouts and designs incorporating material flow and line balancing.

  • Use lean tools, communication skills and leadership abilities, lead and facilitate kaizen activities encouraging multi-functional groups to participate, and meet common goals.

  • Lead and support capital expenditure requests and implementations using basic cost justification and business management principles.

  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing - authorization of product and documentation changes.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is required.

  • Candidates with at least 1 year of background in a manufacturing setting within engineering are preferred.

  • Basic knowledge, classroom and/or project experience in PLC, Electronics, Hydraulics, Welding methods, and Robotics.

  • Experience in implementing and leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects preferred

  • Experience using DMAIC/PDCA concepts in a project environment preferred

  • Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Preferred experience: robotics and automation, progressive dies and stamping, PLC and controls, Six Sigma Greenbelt or statistical analysis.
