Your Responsibilities
As a Small Excavators Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Kernersville, located in Kernersville, NC, you will h elp chart our path forward by implementing a portion of the assembly process in the new factory in Kernersville. In addition, you will:

• Design, procure, and implement tooling and facilities for a portion of the assembly process.
• Determine assembly sequence of events and lead the development of assembly process documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to blend design requirements and manufacturing process capabilities to safely and efficiently deliver quality excavators.
• Collaborate closely with facilities and material flow teams to create an integrated manufacturing system.
• Develop innovative solutions to build a best-in-class manufacturing facility.

What Skills You Need

• Experience facilitating the design, purchase, and implementation of shop floor tooling and machines
• Experience with manufacturing such as Industrial Engineering standards, SAP, and MES Systems
• Implementing Design for Manufacturability concepts and principles
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional teams, especially in a shop-floor environment
• Project Management skills
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with automation and smart connected factory principles
• Experience in multiple areas of manufacturing (assembly/fabrication/paint)
• Experience with line design, value stream mapping, and/or other process mapping tools
• Demonstrated leadership and passion for making things better
• Willingness to challenge historical paradigms and push for innovative, pragmatic alternatives

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
