As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
Recognizes correct inspection tool choice provided by supplier based on accuracy, repeatability of measurement, tolerance applied to feature, materials used to manufacture the part and judge supplier's ability to use the right inspection equipment. Interprets/accesses right Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing practices. Interacts with internal and external teams like, engineering, materials and global suppliers. Reviews inspection reports and determine compliance to corp. procedural requirements and trains new suppliers to improve first pass yield. Analyzes various commodity documents for compliance like machining, sheet metal, cables, fabricated parts and assemblies/ kits and correlate with supplier submitted documents. Demonstrates user expertise on tools like SAP and processes like engineering change management, addressing supplier issues in meeting drawing requirements etc. Understands raw materials specification and correlates with supplier results.
Functional Knowledge requirement:
Knowledge on GD&T: Should have good knowledge in understand GD &T symbols in engineering drawing and GD&T measuring methods. Knowledge on measuring tools: Should have good knowledge in engineering dimensions measuring Tools, Instruments/Equipment’s. Quality procedures experience with exposure to latest inspection methods experience preferred Metrology : Should have good knowledge on measurement methods (Hands on experience). Good knowledge on CMM Inspection – Must have Hands on experience. Knowledge on ASTM/ASME standards : Should have good knowledge in understand the requirements in the standard. Knowledge on special process testing & Inspection: Should have good knowledge on surface treatment, coating/plating inspection methods etc. Knowledge on raw materials reports: Should have good knowledge in understanding material test certificates/reports. Knowledge on weldments Inspection methods. Basic knowledge :
- Teamcenter, SAP
- Manufacturing methods.
