This position reports to:
AME Manager__
In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. You will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your skills by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to meet the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will contribute to ABB's Motors and Generators Business Line in Helsinki. Main stakeholders are Production & Operations, Quality Assurance, Product Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Finance, Safety & HSE, and management across the organization. You will join a highly experienced team that will support your professional growth and enable you to make a meaningful impact.
The position is based in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, and requires mostly onsite presence.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Identifying improvement opportunities and implementing improvement projects, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule requirements
- Providing support for Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up and defining action plans
- Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and overseeing testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices
- Leading, planning and implementing production layout changes
- Coordinating manufacturing-related activities in product development and product transfer projects
Qualifications for the role
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies (such as Kaizen and Six Sigma), and production process optimization
- Several years demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or production optimization within industrial manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as CATIA, AutoCAD, or Fusion etc.), ERP systems, preferably SAP, and data analysis tools
- Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and enjoy working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- You communicate fluently in both Finnish and English. Finnish is the primary working language
