Job Summary
Reporting to the ME Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer, MRB will provide on-site
operational engineering support to the composite fan cases production team at our
Tallassee, Alabama site to deliver timely resolution of non-conformances and enable a
stable production output.
Accountable to review and resolve defects and non-conforming conditions in a production
environment by delivering robust, capable and approved rework/repair instructions which
precisely follow internal and customer requirements.
This is a contract position. Flexibility to work on second shift and weekends where needed
to support the program is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
• Work alongside Quality Inspectors to review and classify defects on the production
floor and catalogue these in internal quality software.
• Prepare and submit non-conformances and proposed dispositions to the customer’s
MRB Liaison team via an external portal. Manage and prioritize open non conformances in accordance with delivery priorities.
• Ensure timely responses to customer queries and clarifications to obtain MRB
disposition approval/concurrence from customer MRB Liaison.
• Prepare internal engineering repair instructions in-line with customer approved
dispositions to resolve non-conformances.
• Issue approved repair instructions to production and document the completion of
these repairs in the customer portal to allow NC closure.
• Any other tasks or duties deemed necessary by the ME Manager.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS Engineering OR in lieu of degree, 10 years of aerospace manufacturing
experience.
• 2+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• US Person for Export Compliance purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of composite structures and related processes.
• Demonstrated experience working on Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
• Experience with Aerospace systems and processes (eNMS portal).
• Experience with Aerospace products & processes (TIPQA).
• Familiarity with GD&T and able to review drawings and specifications to determine
product requirements and tolerances.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership internally
