Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Jamestown Engine Plant. In this role, you will support the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment, processes, and production system improvements that drive safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and CAD/CAM tools, along with the ability to analyze manufacturing processes, interpret engineering drawings, and contribute to data-driven process improvements.

This position is well suited for a collaborative problem solver who can work effectively across cross-functional teams while supporting projects related to machining, fixturing, workstation design, ergonomics, and manufacturing equipment optimization. Experience with CNC metal-cutting or metal-processing equipment is highly valued, as is the ability to document standardized processes, evaluate manufacturing solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance and reduce waste.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support manufacturing projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance.
  • Apply lean and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement manufacturing equipment and process enhancements.
  • Analyze manufacturing operations and recommend data-driven solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain standardized manufacturing procedures that promote consistency and quality.
  • Contribute to workstation, tooling, and fixture designs that support safe and effective production.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of manufacturing equipment to meet project and business requirements.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and help implement sustainable corrective actions.

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply manufacturing knowledge to process, equipment, and tooling improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to make data-driven decisions and resolve production challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and influence positive outcomes.
  • Foundational experience supporting machining, fixturing, CNC manufacturing operations, or related production environments.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Basic level of relevant work experience required.

Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate and influence effectively across multiple teams while coaching others toward operational excellence.
