What You’ll Do
- Help evaluate designs for manufacturability and perform testing, collaborating actively with the design and production teams.
- Assist in designing and implementing tooling and test solutions that support hardware build and delivery.
- Contribute to developing new processes and procedures for manufacturing operations and flight hardware builds.
- Participate in time studies, layout refinement, and capacity modeling initiatives to drive process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production challenges and resolve product non-conformances.
- Document technical procedures, experiments, and analyses for knowledge-sharing and process improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Expected to complete or have completed final degree within one year of the internship’s end.
- Practical experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, etc.).
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles and interest in building physical hardware.
- Effective communicator; able to work in cross-functional teams and contribute to technical discussions.
- Detail-oriented, enthusiastic about hands-on work and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
- GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, research, or project-based experience in manufacturing, robotics, or process engineering.
- Familiarity with time studies, process documentation, and statistical analysis tools (MATLAB, Excel, Python).
