Electronics & PCBA Failure Analysis
- Perform failure analysis on failed PCBAs and electronic, electromechanical components returned from production or test.
- Troubleshoot electronics issues using schematics, test data, logs, and measurement tools.
- Support containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electronics-related issues.
- Work with Manufacturing and R&D to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Test Engineering, Development & Software Support
- Design production test systems for manufacturing of laboratory and electromechanical analysis products.
- Be responsible for the overall architecture of test systems, including hardware, software, and data management.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers to establish test requirements and design test systems that are aligned with the Agilent manufacturing ecosystem.
- Support and improve electronics test systems, including functional test, system test, and diagnostics.
- Develop, modify, and maintain test software, scripts, and configurations to improve fault detection, debug capability, and test robustness.
- Improve test coverage, test limits, and diagnostic effectiveness to reduce false failures and test escapes.
- Support test correlation, characterization, qualification, and release of test systems through statistical data analysis and GR&R.
- Perform verification and validation of test systems in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Establish and release test-related documentation, including test descriptions, operating manuals, specifications, and qualification records.
- Continuously improve and maintain test systems, including enhancement of test functions and implementation of test script changes as needed.
Data Management & System Integration
- Develop and integrate test systems into shopfloor or manufacturing execution systems as required.
- Build and maintain test result databases and establish secure data connections from test systems.
- Support effective retrieval, handling, and analysis of test data to improve manufacturing performance and traceability.
Schematic Review & Design Support
- Read, interpret, and review electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting.
- Work with product R&D engineers, including firmware and software teams, to support Design for Test and influence product design for effective manufacturing testability.
- Provide feedback to R&D on design weaknesses, test gaps, or field failure learnings.
- Support basic schematic updates or test-point recommendations where applicable.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Supplier Engineering, and external service providers to resolve issues and support test system implementation.
- Support external service providers in the build and deployment of test system hardware.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics or test development within manufacturing environments for analytical, medical device, precision, or electromechanical equipment.
- Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot PCBAs using schematics, test data, and measurement tools.
- Experience with electronics failure analysis, root cause methodologies, and corrective action implementation.
- Working knowledge of electronics test software development or scripting, such as LabVIEW, Python, C#, C/C++, VB, SQL, or equivalent.
- Experience in developing efficient and robust manufacturing test scripts, including handling, storage, and retrieval of test data.
- Familiarity with test hardware, instrumentation, and manufacturing test system architecture.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system diagrams.
- Familiarity with manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, failure analysis reports, corrective action records, test specifications, operating manuals, and qualification records.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 and QMS verification/validation requirements is an advantage.
- Data-driven mindset with practical experience in scrap, yield, trend, and statistical analysis, including GR&R.
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Hands-on, disciplined, result-oriented, and strong in problem-solving.
