Reimagine What’s Possible 


Air Products is seeking a highly motivated Plant Applications & Infrastructure Specialist to support the technology systems that enable safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for plant users, providing technical support for industrial applications, HMI systems, end-user computing devices, and site technology infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work closely with operations, engineering, process control, and corporate IT teams to ensure the availability and performance of plant technology systems. This position requires a strong customer-service mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support both operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) environments.


Principal Accountabilities
  • Provide support for plant HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems and operator workstations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Support conference room audio/visual equipment and collaboration technologies.
  • Manage and maintain digital signage systems across the site.
  • Provide support for printing services, printers, multifunction devices, and print management solutions.
  • Support site communication systems including phones and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain and support plant kiosks and shared access terminals.
  • Serve as the local point of contact between plant personnel and corporate Digital Technology (DT) teams.
  • Coordinate incident resolution and manage escalations with internal and external support providers.
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, and replacement of end-user computing equipment.
  • Support software installations, upgrades, security updates, and system maintenance activities.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in technology projects supporting plant operations and business initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, safety, and operational standards when supporting plant systems.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, plant IT, or operational technology environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based hardware and software systems.
  • Experience supporting end-user technologies, including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, automation, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, OT systems, manufacturing technology, or industrial systems.
  • Experience providing Tier 2/3 support for IT and OT environments.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across applications, services, servers, workstations, connectivity, and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with software installation, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle support.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, Historian, AVEVA, or similar manufacturing platforms.
  • Understanding of IT-OT integrations and plant-floor technology environments.
  • Experience supporting production-critical systems requiring high availability and reliability.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, change management, and compliance requirements in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, production, plant, or operations environments.
  • Proven hands-on technical support experience where system downtime directly impacts production.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and production areas while adhering to site safety requirements.
  • Willingness to provide off-hours support for critical outages, upgrades, deployments, or production-impacting incidents.
  • Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on safety, production impact, and business urgency.
