Job Description

  

We are seeking a technically versatile and experienced professional to lead manufacturing process optimization while ensuring compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic safety leadership to drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

Environmental Health & Safety

The essential primary functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EH&S policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, EMS, HSMS and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety inspections for facilities and processes.
  • Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform periodic safety inspections.
  • Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide EH&S training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare regulatory reports.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and recommend corrective actions where hazards exist.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and environmental impact.

Manufacturing Engineering

The essential secondary functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems.
  • Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and maintain equipment operational readiness.
  • Lead identification, purchase, and implementation of new equipment for the manufacturing floor.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve equipment, materials, and quality issues.
  • Drive cost reduction activities and process improvements to achieve company goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and travel as required to customer sites for technical support and training.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5–7 years in combined manufacturing engineering and EH&S roles.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard analysis, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Project management and continuous improvement experience.
