What you will be doing:
We have several exciting opportunities for Manufacturing Cost Performance Managers to join our team. Reporting to Oliver Chamberlain, SVP – Product Cost, these roles will provide a unique opportunity to lead and drive a company level strategic initiative across one of our Manufacturing Business Units.
Working with functions across Manufacturing Operations, ET&S and portfolio planning the successful candidate will define and drive cultural, process and system level initiatives to reduce cost within manufacturing.
These roles will manage a programme to transform our current state, risks and opportunities to support the overall 5YP aligned to our company level financial commitments.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will Plan, develop and implement the Cost Programme in line with business, production, and organisational priorities within a Manufacturing Business Unit, including system and process improvements, as well as:
- Transform our mindset and engagement in Product Cost across the Manufacturing Business Units with varied exposure across Operations and into the Value Streams.
- Lead a cross functional team to define and recommend a package of work to deliver against the product cost goals set by the business.
- Identification and exploitation of synergies across the manufacturing business that maximise our product cost financial returns.
- Ownership and accountability for execution against an agreed cost programme budget across our domestic manufacturing footprint. Provides change management (within affordability) for the respective cost programme to ensure delivery of our business cost objectives.
- Lead appropriate governance aligned with our operating model to ensure effective and efficient delivery of our cost programme.
- Take lead responsibility for significant cost issues relevant to the Manufacturing Business Unit. Develop and recommend plans to resolve the issue and communicate status to the business.
- In conjunction with Finance, maintain a cost system to monitor progress against the business financial objectives.
- Approve all cost information used for financial submissions, business plans and engineering changes.
- Support our strategic cost planning activity including procurement excellence, technical cost out and technology adoption that enables our long term product cost success.
- Create and sustain a high performance culture linked to cost awareness and relevant cost management capabilities within the manufacturing business unit, providing coaching and guidance to front line leaders.

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience within a manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrable experience of leading large, cross functional teams delivering complex programmes which drive improved business profit and/or cash.
- Comfortable leading a significant change programme within a business.
- Financially astute and able to understand how cost levers will impact overall Manufacturing Business Unit cash & cost performance.
- Commercial focussed and able to communicate confidently and influence across all levels of Operations to provide appropriate challenge on cost.
- Product & process awareness within Manufacturing is essential. Technical experience would be advantageous.
