Operations Intern: Mobile Robotics & Automation Intern
nVent’s Mobile Robotics & Automation Internship will provide the opportunity to support a variety of facets of day to day plant operations, gaining exposure and valuable development experiences within a global manufacturing organization. This is a 12-week full-time internship during summer 2027.
In this position, you will get to:
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify short-term and long-term needs for production automation
- Contribute to planning and implementation of capital projects involving automated and semi-automated processes and equipment
- Develop standard documents to support automated and semi-automated processes
- Experiment with a low-capacity cobot and develop use cases for R&D or Production
- Collaborate with peers to achieve process excellence
Internship Details
- Interns are paid $25 per hour
- Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work
- Relocation and housing support is available for eligible candidates
- Interns and Co-ops receive paid time off, paid sick time, paid volunteer time, and paid holidays
- Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance may be offered a subsequent internship or full-time offer of employment with nVent
Location: The Manufacturing Automation Internship is based out of our facility in Anoka, MN.

Your experience as an intern goes beyond the day-to-day of your role. In addition to the support of your manager, you can expect to grow and develop through exposure to leadership, engaging in development opportunities, and networking with other early career professionals.
- Training & Development: Training and development is provided throughout your internship through on-the-job experiences and structured learning opportunities, fostering the development of business acumen and leadership skills at a global organization.

A peer-led committee helps to organize social, professional and service-related activities and events for interns and early career professionals. You will also be invited to join our Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s) which offer special events, networking, professional development and volunteer opportunities throughout the year to promote inclusion and respect and to help us embrace our diversity.
- Mentorship & Networking: Build a network of peers, managers and senior leaders to support your career path and aid your growth. Gain exposure to nVent professionals at every level who will act as formal and informal mentors during your internship.
YOU HAVE:
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an engineering or related major (ME, EE, CE, CS, IE, Mfg. Eng, Robotics/Automation, Mechatronics)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future. nVent does not offer sponsorship to candidates.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization
- Energy to listen, desire to learn and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change
