Machine tooling components to support tool maintenance and automation requirements.
- Set up and operate one or more of the following machines: Manual lathe and/or manual mill, grinder, drill press, etc.
- Duties include machining complex geometries and threading.
- Work from factory work orders, routings, drawings, process drawings & layout sheets, written or verbal instructions.
- Apply technical application knowledge in tooling, blue print reading including GDT, and processes for a wide variety of materials.
- Inspect work produced, including in process inspection, using micrometers, bore gauges, vernier calipers, or other measuring instruments maintaining very close tolerances.
- Follow preventative maintenance procedures on equipment as prescribed by the supervisor and report operating difficulties of equipment.
- Train and instruct other employees when requested.
- Make proper labor and time reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement teams as required
- Ensure full implementation of all relevant procedures and instructions and ensure documentation and records are maintained adherent to ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems
- Requires knowledge equivalent to school education plus ability to read and interpret component prints or drawings
- Make average to complicated arithmetic calculations and resolve elementary technical problems.
- 2 year technical degree in machining or equivalent offsetting experience.
- Able to run manual machines, lathe, mill, surface grinder, drill press, etc.
- Knowledge of inch & metric systems of measurement.
- Knowledge and experience using basic measuring tools (micrometer, caliper, toolmaker’s scope).
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
