As a Managing Technical Consultant, Compliance Engineer based in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, you’ll play a strategic role in helping organizations navigate evolving environmental regulations, reduce risk, and elevate performance. What Your Impact Is:- Serve as a trusted advisor to multinational clients on environmental compliance strategies
- Drive technical excellence and quality across projects involving air permitting, hazardous waste, and regulatory audits
- Mentor teams and foster collaboration to deliver best-in-class solutions
- Influence operational improvements that shape industry standards for compliance and sustainability
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and auditing
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and building collaborative teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client engagement
- Ability to travel up to 20% regionally and occasionally nationally
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
- Certifications such as HAZWOPER, CHMM, or similar
- Provide technical expertise and oversight on hazardous waste, hazardous materials, and compliance projects
- Manage project execution, including budgeting, QA/QC, and regulatory assessments
- Lead development of compliance plans, permits, and reports (air, EPCRA, SPCC, stormwater, NPDES, wastewater)
- Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with ERM subject matter experts to deliver integrated solutions
- Build strong client relationships and maintain scope, budget, and schedule expectations
- Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers in delivering high-quality outcomes
