While the ME oversees and ensures the smooth flow of content from conception to publishing on all platforms, the ideal candidate is particularly adept at and has a particular passion for digital excellence.
The managing editor of the National Newsroom will:
- Work with editors and reporters to direct our national coverage
- Serve as primary day-to-day copy editor for national content
- Write 2-3 stories per week.
- Provide editing support for our Digital Cities
- Write and curate national newsletters
- Coordinate national projects/coverage efforts (including some print projects)
- Conceive and executive storytelling ideas across multiple platforms.
- A track record of success in an ACBJ newsroom.
- An understanding of the changing media landscape and ability to develop strategies to address market and consumer change.
- Effective time management skills.
- The ability to exceed expectations in a results-oriented environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Must have a high degree of familiarity with CMS, Office 365 applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and other digital publishing tools.
