At Makeready, we create unique hospitality experiences that are deeply rooted in creativity, community, and purpose. We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Managing Director to lead the overall operation, management, and success of the property. This includes guest satisfaction, financial performance, team leadership, operational efficiency, and brand compliance. The Managing Director ensures the delivery of exceptional service, promotes a positive work culture, and drives profitability. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning, budgeting, and financial performance for the property
  • Partner with revenue, sales, and marketing teams to maximize profitability and brand alignment.
  • Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring consistency in service, safety, cleanliness, and quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a guest-first culture and resolve service issues swiftly to enhance satisfaction.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Champion the Makeready brand, ensuring the property reflects its unique character and community ties.
  • Support talent recruitment, training, and leadership development.
  • Collaborate with the People and Culture team on complex team matters and promote a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Act as a liaison between property and corporate teams to align goals and strategies.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive working environment in partnership with Senior Leadership Team.

 

Requested Capabilities

  • 5+ years as a General Manager, ideally in luxury lifestyle environments.
  • Proven track record of performance, team development, and career progression.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen.
  • Skilled communicator and problem solver with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Proficiency in hotel systems such as Opera or similar PMS platforms.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Skills Required
