The Managing Director, LATAM is responsible for scaling and accelerating the Latin America business. With full P&L ownership, this leader drives profitable growth while managing integrated teams across sales, marketing, planning, operations, and warehousing.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial and financial capabilities, deep regional market knowledge, and experience operating in a dynamic branded or licensed consumer products environment, ideally within the children’s toy industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver regional revenue, margin, and growth targets
  • Develop and execute country, channel, and key account strategies
  • Lead negotiations with major retailers, distributors, and strategic partners
  • Build and maintain senior-level customer relationships across LATAM
  • Drive pricing, assortment, promotions, and forecasting excellence
  • Identify new business opportunities, channels, and market expansion initiatives
  • Full responsibility for regional P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
  • Ensure strong gross margin discipline, expense control, and inventory health
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with global leadership
  • Partner closely with Finance on planning, controls, and compliance
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-disciplinary team
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results
  • Oversee organizational design, hiring, performance management, and succession planning
  • Coach senior leaders and build bench strength across the organization
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment
  • Ensure service level performance, cost efficiency, and inventory optimization
  • Partner with global supply chain teams to improve lead times and in-market availability
  • Drive operational process improvements and scalability
  • Lead regional marketing execution in alignment with global brand strategy
  • Oversee local marketing plans, budgets, retail execution, and promotional activity
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and licensor requirements
  • Act as the senior LATAM contact for key licensors
  • Ensure alignment, compliance, reporting, and strong long-term relationships
  • Support portfolio expansion and new licensing opportunities
  • Use data, analytics, and KPIs to guide decision-making
  • Monitor sales performance, margin, inventory, and customer metrics
  • Provide clear insights and recommendations to global leadership
  • Contribute to long-term regional and global growth strategies                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of leadership experience in toys, consumer products, FMCG, or licensed brands

  • Bachelors degree is a plus

  • Proven P&L ownership at a regional or country level

  • Strong background in sales leadership and financial management

  • Experience managing multi-country LATAM operations

  • Demonstrated success leading teams of 20+ employees

  • Strong negotiation and senior customer management experience

  • Fluent in English, Spanish (Portuguese strongly preferred)

  • Periodic international and regional travel 

Preferred

  • Experience in the toy or licensed entertainment space

  • Experience working with global, matrixed organizations

  • MBA or advanced business degree

  • Experience managing both direct retail and distributor models
