The hiring range for this opportunity is $250,000 to $310,000 annual salary with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Managing Director Treasury & Commercial Payments
Oversees the sales teams for both Treasury Management and Merchant Card Services, and the Treasury Management Product Delivery team. Responsible for collaborating with multiple lines of business within Wholesale Banking, Product Management and coordinating the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the Treasury Management and Merchant Card products and sales strategies. Responsible for sales activities, including the development of new treasury management and merchant card business, expansion of existing business relationships and the servicing of clients.
Essential Duties:
- Lead the enterprise TM and Commercial Card strategy, driving revenue growth, core deposit expansion, margin preservation, and long-term franchise value across all commercial segments.
- Directs the execution of sales, consulting, implementation, and commercial card sales initiatives, ensuring disciplined performance management, organizational scalability, and adherence to governance standards.
- Oversees consolidated Treasury & Commercial Card P&L performance, including deposit margin contribution, treasury fee income, interchange revenue, pricing exceptions, and cost-to-serve metrics with executive accountability for financial outcomes.
- Designs enterprise-level pricing governance frameworks and profitability models to safeguard net interest margin, optimize deposit beta behavior, and ensure disciplined exception management across rate environments.
- Directs enterprise commercial card and integrated payables strategy through the Director of Commercial Cards, establishing growth objectives, modernization priorities, vendor governance standards, and profitability targets to optimize interchange revenue and client adoption.
- Partner with Finance, ALM, Risk, Compliance, and Technology leadership to align treasury greowth with liquidiy, strategy, regulatory expectations, audit remediation, and operational risk controls.
- Lead treasury and commercial payments due diligence and integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions, evaluatin target operating models, deposit portfolios, pricing structures, and card programs to ensure revenue retention and strategic synergy realization.
- Monitor organizational performance through executive dashboards and KPI governance, holding respective SVPs accountable for sales productivity, deposit growth quality, implementation efficiency, client retention, and commercial card penetration.
- Extensive expertise in product management, including full lifecycle ownership, pricing strategy, commercialization, and technical product development such as platform integrations, APIs, and digital channel enablement within Treasury Management.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred: Master's Degree. Field of Study: Business, Finance or related field
- Certification: PreferredCTP, AAP/APRP, SWIFT
Skills and Knowledge:
- More than 8 years of experience leading multi-layered treasury or payments organizations.
- More than 8 years of direct experience overseeing and scaling commercial card programs.
- Proficient understanding of deposit beta behavior, liquidity strategy, and rate cycle impact on deposit profitability.
- Extensive experience participating in M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration involving treasury, deposits, or commercial payments.
- Demonstrate ability to create accountability frameworks and performance governance standards.
- Experience managing network relationships (ie: Visa, Mastercard) and processor/vendor contracts.
- Extensive understanding of ACH and wire risk management, entitlement governance, and compliance documentation standards.
- Demonstrate P&L ownership exceeding $20MM in annual treasury or payment revenue.
