CONTEXT: Our client is a well-established public accounting firm providing tax, accounting, and advisory services to closely held businesses and individual clients. The firm is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. The Firm Operations & Client Advisory Manager will oversee the firm's accounting and tax professionals, ensure high-quality client service, and provide financial guidance to small business clients. The owner is looking for a key team member to take ownership of daily firm operations while helping clients make informed financial decisions and grow their businesses. While business development opportunities are available, this position is not expected to carry a sales quota or focus on new client acquisition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and improve internal processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with client issue resolution and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with firm ownership on strategic planning and operational initiatives.

  • Prior experience managing accounting professionals and overseeing client engagements.
  • Strong background in tax, financial statement preparation, and small business accounting.
  • Experience advising business owners on financial performance, cash flow, budgeting, and operational decisions.
  • Ability to confidently present financial information and recommendations to clients.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with common tax, accounting, and practice management software.
