What You’ll Be Doing:
The Solution Strategy & Value team in Evolent’s Product organization oversees end-to-end commercial product strategy and performance for our specialty solutions – the capabilities that power our mission to improve care quality, affordability, and experience for people with complex health conditions.
The Managing Director, Oncology will set the strategic direction of Evolent’s cancer care programs in key areas and own high-priority initiatives to accelerate product innovation, scale our offerings across the health care ecosystem, and ensure we deliver distinctive impact. Evolent is pursuing an ambitious agenda in Oncology – including expanding on our industry-leading care pathways, clinical programs and provider alignment capabilities with new product development in precision medicine and tech-enabled patient navigation – and Solution Strategy & Value sits at the heart of ideation, planning and execution for these corporate priorities.
Collaboration Opportunities:
The Managing Director, Oncology position is a highly visible enterprise leadership role involving frequent interaction with internal and external executive stakeholders, as well as broad cross-functional collaboration with our teams in Product, Technology, Clinical, Operations, and Growth. This position will report to the VP, Solution Strategy & Value.
What You Will Be Doing:
Oversee Oncology product enhancement and innovation in defined areas, from strategy development through technical and operational execution.
Encompasses improvements to existing functionality and major net-new capabilities unlocking new sources of value creation.
Value includes clinical quality improvement, avoidable cost of care reduction, provider and patient/caregiver experience.
Example innovation priority areas for Oncology in 2025-26: Precision medicine, patient navigation, patient self-administered drug management.
Evaluate build/buy/partner for new capabilities and manage relationships with strategic third-party partners.
Drive prioritization and solutioning to increase value realization for current Oncology customers, in collaboration with cross-functional internal business partners.
Serve as product subject matter expert to support business development, including engaging directly with health plan and provider leaders on Oncology specialty management capabilities and roadmap.
Qualifications Required and Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Required)
10+ years in strategy and/or operations, with 7+ years specific to health care services and/or tech, working in areas such as health care strategy, product, research, growth, clinical and operations. (Required)
Experience driving innovative solutions in Oncology and/or knowledge of the specialty value-based care space is a plus. (Preferred)
Ability to lead and work in diverse cross-functional groups to drive product problem-solving and define solution strategy. (Required)
Experience defining novel solutions and evaluating best approaches for new product development, including working with third-party partners. (Required)
Ability to form recommendations grounded in strong strategic rationale under conditions of uncertainty and/or incomplete information. (Required)
Exemplary ability to develop compelling, succinct client-facing and internal content such as meeting presentations, RFP responses, opportunity assessments, SOWS, and FAQ documents. (Required)
Well-versed in communicating with, presenting to, and influencing internal and external executive-level stakeholders. (Required)

Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $175,000-190,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.Similar Jobs
