Role Purpose

The General Manager is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and people leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations within Moog MRO Services. This role oversees daily performance, regulatory adherence, customer satisfaction, financial results, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the organisation meets both commercial and safety objectives. A key focus of this position is identifying commercial opportunities and supporting business development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the site business strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and support business development.
  • Lead long‑term planning for capacity, workforce, infrastructure, and operational growth.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost‑control initiatives. Own the P&L for the site or business unit. Provide clear reporting on financial performance, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organisational targets.
  • Manage resource planning, capacity utilisation, and workflow optimisation. Ensure effective workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with corporate functions and demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organisation, balancing local operational needs with global strategic priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure full compliance with aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, CAAC, CAA, local authorities). Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to SMS (Safety Management System) principles.
  • Ensure quality standards are met across all operational processes.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, reliability, and on‑time performance.
  • Ensure operational risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and customer teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and teams to achieve high performance.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery and proactive communication.
  • Lead the site response during operational disruptions, safety incidents, or emergencies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders during critical events.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform decision‑making.
  • Willingness to travel is required. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of experience in aviation operations, maintenance, MRO, or related sector
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and quality frameworks
  • Experience managing budgets and operational KPIs

Skills: Aviation Regulatory, Operational Excellence, Commercial & Financial Acumen, Communication & Stakeholder Influence, Decision‑Making & Problem‑Solving.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, Business, or related field
  • Master's degree
  • 8-12+ years experience in aviation operations, maintenance, MRO, or related sector
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a regulated environment
