Managing Consultant - Sustainable Finance (Senior Level)

ERM is a global consulting firm specializing in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). We provide strategic support to a diverse range of global clients, including financial institutions, institutional investors, funds, and international organizations.

ERM is accelerating the development of sustainable finance solutions.
Since KKR became our principal shareholder in 2021, we have significantly expanded our sustainable finance initiatives. Additionally, last year, we established a joint venture with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank to provide decarbonization consulting services, supporting companies in addressing climate change. As we navigate this transformative period, ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant to contribute to this rapidly growing sector.
 

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with major financial institutions on product development, sales support, and policy formulation, leveraging previous experience in financial institutions while gaining seamless exposure to consulting-based financial solutions. The team is composed primarily of professionals from global financial institutions, including partners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ERM consultants to provide best-in-class sustainable finance solutions, including climate change, biodiversity, energy transition, ESG risk management, and M&A.
• Support smooth project execution and assist ERM partners.
• Prepare and manage documents for client meetings and workshops.
• Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, and deliverable quality.
• Mentor junior consultants and enhance output quality.
• Assist with business development, including idea generation, proposal writing, marketing material preparation, and client presentations.
• Build trust and partnerships with clients and internal teams.

Required Qualifications (MUST)

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in one or more of the following:
  Commercial banks / Government financial institutions / Asset management firms / Securities firms / Impact investment funds / International organizations / ESG rating agencies.
• Expertise in sustainable finance or impact finance.
• Master’s degree or higher.
• Team management experience.
• Native-level Japanese proficiency and business-level English skills.

• Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Business, Finance, Sustainability, Engineering, or Public Policy.

業務内容

• ERMコンサルタントと連携し、最高水準のサステナブルファイナンスソリューションを提供（気候変動、生物多様性、エネルギー転換、ESGリスク管理、M&Aなど）。
• プロジェクトの円滑な運営をサポートし、ERMパートナーを支援。
• クライアントとの会議・ワークショップの準備及び関連ドキュメントの管理。
• プロジェクトのスコープ、予算、スケジュール、成果物の品質管理。
• ジュニアコンサルタントの育成とアウトプットの品質向上。
• ビジネス開発の支援（アイデア創出、提案書作成、マーケティング資料準備、クライアント向けプレゼンテーション）。
• クライアントおよび社内メンバーと信頼関係を構築し、パートナーシップを促進。

必須条件（MUST）

• 下記いずれかの業界で7年以上の実務経験　
  民間銀行 / 政府系金融機関 / アセットマネジメント / 証券 /
  インパクト投資ファンド / 国際機関 / ESG格付け会社
• サステナブルファイナンスまたはインパクトファイナンスに関する専門知識・実務経験
• 修士号以上
• チームマネジメント経験
• ネイティブレベルの日本語およびビジネスレベルの英語力
