Managing Consultant (Director level) - Financial Services

We serve many large financial institutions and regulators with a strong focus on digitalization and related transformations. Our strong team in Denmark is growing and we are hiring Managing Consultants to continue building our strong presence in the sector. 

The ideal candidates will have a strong background in financial services consulting, with a focus on commercial/growth strategy, digital strategy and business transformation. The perfect candidates will be able to take lead on both account leadership and development of innovative propositions and develop the team in the key capability areas.

Within PA, the Managing Consultant (MC) role represents a top tier appointment in the organization (it is the level below Partner), with MCs typically serving as our business development and team leaders. With one foot in the operation, one foot in the strategic and a head for business and proposition development, this role is highly varied and calls for someone who is autonomous and a self-starter. MCs are part of the leadership team and an integrated part of the sales effort. 

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients in the financial services sector to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive implementation
• Provide strategic advice and insights to senior executives on a range of issues including AI adoption, digital transformation, operational efficiency, risk management, sourcing strategy etc
• Lead project teams in delivering high-quality solutions that meet client objectives and drive measurable business impact
• Lead strategic accounts as chair person
• Lead FS Sales initiatives (MC level) across the firm, particularly driving the agenda in areas such as: IT & digital strategy, business transformation, architecture and corporate service
• Collaborate with colleagues across PA Consulting's global network to leverage best practices and expertise

Our team is based in Copenhagen, and you will work predominately on client site. Travel outside of these locations may be required, but we are committed to working with any qualified candidate to understand what flexible working patterns can be adapted.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; a Master's degree in economics, engineering, IT, Data Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in management consulting, with a specific focus on the financial services industry, is required.
• Alternatively, candidates with a combined advisory career and internal managerial experience at a large client or corporate finance company will be considered, particularly if you have advisory/consulting experience in some of the hot topics facing the Financial Services industry, for example:
  • Operational excellence and Process Improvement (including AI adoption)
  • Sourcing and IT Strategy (CIO advisory)
  • Data Science 
  • Cyber Security
  • Business and Digital Transformation
  • Operating model transformation, people and talent 
  • AI adoption, regulation and governance 
  • Risk and Regulation 
  • Business and Growth Strategy 

• Demonstrated ability to deliver successful projects in critical areas such as strategy development, process improvement, and technology implementation is essential.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with the capacity to distil complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are imperative, as is the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels.
• Verifiable sales experience is a prerequisite for this role.
• Fluency in both Danish and English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages will be viewed favourably.
