Assistant Project Manager
The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate with the Project Manager or other team members to assist with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with Project Manager and Preconstruction Teams to understand size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines
- Assist Superintendent in maintaining construction schedule
- Adjust plan as necessary based on field conditions and progress
- Interact effectively with subcontractors to clearly define work scopes, ensure all work items are being addressed
- Acting as direct liaison between Project Manager, superintendent, subcontractors, and vendors
- Read and understand job bid instructions, detailed specifications, prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job, estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, equipment costs to prepare an estimate
- Assess opportunities and risks through plan reviews and site visits
- Assisting Project Manager with bid preparation, review, and submission for Federal, State, County and private jobs
- Assist in development of project schedule
- Promote a safe work environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering discipline or Construction Management preferred
- Previous experience in a project management role is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated ability to promote a safe work environment
- Excellent team and communication skills
- Problem solving and ability to adjust to changing circumstances
- Willingness to travel
