Introduction to the job
To support our customers, ASML keeps parts and tools in Warehouses close to our customers. In total we currently have 50+ of these local service warehouses globally, which are outsourced to Logistics Service Suppliers (3PL’s).
The Warehousing team is tasked to make sure the warehouses are ready to support our customers in the most efficient way, which means that all facilities are fit for purpose, there is enough space and sufficient manpower and that activities are performed in line with the agreed SLA’s and budgets. Facilities in our warehouses include Clean Technology Infrastructure (such as clean rooms) to inspect parts and clean tools, to make sure we supply our customers with parts and tools in the right quality. To further increase the efficiency in warehouse operations, we are enabling 3PL’s to implement a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that will connect to ASML’s ERP system.
Role and responsibilities
You drive decision making on supplier selection and manage (via your team) the 3PL’s that are selected to operate the service warehouses in Asia on:
- Budget and cost saving initiatives
- Performance and performance improvement initiatives
- Improvement initiative and achieve operational excellence
You ensure these warehouses are operated flawlessly by the 3PL’s by auditing on adherence of the right procedures and systems by putting proper controls in place. The growing number of ASML machines at our customers requires us to setup new warehouses and optimize the network that we have. Including expansion or relocate existing warehouses. It will be your responsibility to oversee the translation of the business requirements into warehouse requirements and manage the infrastructure projects successfully to completion for the Asia region through your team. Time, money and (internal) customer satisfaction will be your main drivers. You will drive standardization in your network (and across the globe if applicable). Focus on optimization of the network and processes to enable optimal cost versus service levels. Manage a highly motivated team of professionals. Support them in their growth while achieving the agreed team- and individual targets.
As Manager Warehousing Asia, you will drive the following key areas or responsibilities:

Design & Deploy regional warehousing footprint: Design the Regional Footprint and secure turn-key delivery of Warehousing solutions for Factory & Field. Own the transfer plan to future physical location defined in Warehousing Strategy.

Manage Regional 3PL contract & performance: Manage the operational and tactical relation with the 3PL for your assigned portfolio. Focus on meeting operational performance, cost management and continuous improvement

Develop & Deploy roadmap for Excellence: Drive and deploy standardization projects and regional improvement projects. Ensure warehouse excellence in your region by actively participate in cross sector improvement that are necessary to realize agreed performance improvements. Where necessary initiate cross sector projects to drive improvements.
Education and experience
-
MSc. or Bachelor in Supply Chain Management
-
10-15 year experience in a Supply Chain or Logistics position in the High Tech industry
-
Demonstrated job-related knowledge and/or managerial experience
-
Operational (hands-on) experience in operations, logistics, supply chain
-
Experience with Service Logistics and/or managing 3PL’s
-
Experienced with business interventions, that result in shifted perspectives in performance opportunities and/or leadership engagement
-
Experienced with LEAN and Process standardization and optimization (Operational Excellence methods)
-
Fluent in English, verbal and written
-
Open to travel up to 20%
