POSITION OVERVIEW
An industry-leading cloud-based technology company, Alarm.com is seeking a dynamic and versatile Manager, Visual Design to join our Creative Services team. As part of the marketing team, this individual will lead the in-house visual designers, and partner with a diverse set of teams from around Alarm.com to support their creative needs.

We are looking for a hands-on people manager and contributor that can lead the in-house design team along with concepting and overseeing design projects from start to finish. 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the in-house Visual Design team, providing creative direction, and coaching for growth and development opportunities.
  • Works with Creative Directors to execute work to be completed for creative projects, trade shows, and special events. Ensures that projects are consistent with brand and strategy.
  • Acts as an individual contributor on various creative requests as needed that range from social media, print and event materials, signage, and more.
  • Responsible for ordering and managing projects with print vendors.
  • Delegates Jira tickets and projects at the team level; setting pace and timelines due to bandwidth analysis and planning.
  • Provides guidance and direction to the team to ensure that project goals and deliverables are communicated and achieved.
  • Builds community as liaison and knowledge base for various teams across the org: keeping them up to date on branding, touching base on projects, and getting updates on changes from their side of the business.
  • Manages company design assets (PPT templates, logos, graphic resources).
  • Helps with recruiting and onboarding of new Creative team members.
  • Look for cost savings opportunities and make recommendations for the annual operating budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design or related field
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in graphic design
  • Minimum 3-4 years of people management experience (direct reports, agencies, contractors).
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating strong design expertise
  • Expertise with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint
  • Figma knowledge is a plus
  • Creativity, problem-solving and great communication 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
