What you’ll do

This role is responsible for leading a talented team within the Pilot Hall E/E organization, which facilitates collaboration between R&D and ProductionIdentify, analyze, root cause, and resolve issues during the vehicle commissioning process within a production environment. Your team will work hands-on with ECUs and diagnostic systems and collaborate cross-functionally to implement sustainable solutions. The team combines deep technical expertise, software development, and systems understanding with a proactive and conceptual mindset. You’ll contribute directly to the future of the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV)

  • Lead a talented team responsible for Software Changes, Technical Change Management for electric/electronic and Project reporting  
  • Hire, train, and retain an exceptional team. 
  • Motivate and develop team members, fostering a strong sense of teamwork. 
  • Plan annual administrative, operational, and capital budget. Responsible to stay within budget. 
  • Ensure company policies and regulations are followed. 
  • Define and track group KPI’s to ensure quality, volume, and cost goals. 
  • Contribute to the minimalization of production downtime, scrap, and rework costs. 
  • Identify training opportunities and implement training plans to improve overall organizational capability. 
  • Manage the verification and issue analysis process, helping to ensure new process or product introductions work flawlessly. 
  • Create and Lead a Cross Functional Team to support Production, Technical Development, Quality, and After Sales problems. Lead the Problem-solving process. 
  • Responsible for Vehicle Software changes for Scout Motors Production. Coordinate the changes with other departments like Production, Logistic, Quality, Development. Present Release notes. Evaluate change time, feasibility and effect volume for part to need updates and time requirements for a software update campaign/vehicle. 
  • Coordinate for Pilot Hall EE department on the technical change management. Inform the team about the content of the change. Provide information for the evaluation of the team. Collect feedback, present results to upper management, and share with Launch Management and other departments as required. Track Change Status and implementation timing. Ensure change costs are spent/implemented in a reasonable time.  
  • Generate the electronic project status report for Pilot Hall. Organize meetings across departments and include other groups as required to generate the report. Provide a management summary report and highlight the escalation topics on a high level.   
  • Generate and distribute regular status reports. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • 7+ years professional experience with expertise in car production, development and diagnostics, including ability to achieve stable validation processes. 
  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification with focus on Automotive and/or electronic education.  
  • Skillful at organizational navigation and cross-functional collaboration at all levels; ability to develop effective partnerships and relationships.  
  • Leadership experience. 
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle engineering processes, understanding of manufacturing processes and possesses a holistic overview of vehicle concepts and functions.  
  • Creative and forward thinking. 
  • Strategic problem solver.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00

Internal Leveling Code: M8

Skills Required
