Manager, Training

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Training Manager in Cameron, LA at our CP2 facility. 

General Description:

The Training Manager is responsible for all facets of facility level HSSE Training as well as skills Training and Competency. The Training Manager will proactively work with the Sr Manager – Training, Competency, & Assurance in conjunction with the Calcasieu Pass and PQ Training Department training department to develop and maintain the Venture Global Training & Competency System for their facility.  The Training Manager must have broad knowledge of regulatory compliance, training systems, competency mapping, and training design.  This position will oversee the Regulatory, as well as skill Operations & Maintenance competency at the CP2 facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Accountable for the compliance and regulatory training administration and reporting for all personnel assigned to the facility.
2. Responsible for the annual budget to maintain training and competency requirements at the facility.
3. Oversee the facility LMS program to ensure effectiveness of training material and accurate representation of personnel in the system.
4. Manages the development and implementation of training and competency standards for Venture Global LNG to meet FERC & USCG requirements for Operations and Maintenance staff.
5. Responsible for daily activities of the Training Department at the CP2 LNG Facility.
6. Accountable for the management of the Competency Assurance Program at the facility, to maintain and provide improvement opportunities for the program.
7. Provide local training and support through active interactions with local stakeholders before, during, and after commissioning and start up.
8. Evaluate and deliver CBT and instructor led training for all HSSE and Regulatory training materials to plant personnel on a variety of subjects and procedures.
9. Assist in developing HSSE training courses, and programs to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, best practices and established standards.
10. Accountable for the effectiveness of training and programs at the facility.
11. Responsible for the collection and sharing of competency key performance indicators and work with local management to ensure regulatory, quality and internal standards are met.
12. Administer regular audits and verification of training activities, materials and records, to ensure overall program effectiveness, adherence to relevant standards.
13. Supervise development and implementation of ‘Gap’ closure action plans.

Qualifications:

1. Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or Education preferred or equivalent experience.
2. Experience: 5 years in energy facilities, training and competency assurance processes, chemical processing, or similar facilities. A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a training department.
3. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
4. Skills:
5. Experience in OSHA, EPA, FERC, DOT, and PHMSA rules and regulations required.
6. Strong working knowledge of Training & Competency System design.
7. Thorough understanding of regulatory training development and delivery within an operating environment preferable with FERC experience.
8. An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment.
9. Effective communicator at all levels of an organization with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies.
10. Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
11. Computer savvy including Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
