The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Manager, Total Rewards, to join the People & Culture team.

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, the Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for overseeing the design and administration of compensation, recognition, benefit and retirement saving programs. The role provides support and counsel on total rewards matters to the People & Culture team and senior leaders from across the organization.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead Aviso’s annual compensation planning process, including the review and planning of salary adjustments and incentive awards. Partner cross-functionally with Finance and other departments to support the planning and budgeting process
  • Execute the cyclical and ad-hoc incentive and executive compensation processes, including stakeholder communications, vendor management, data gathering and validation, reward calculations, payroll file submission and employee statement distribution
  • Oversee the annual compensation survey process and cyclical market reviews, translating trends and insights into actionable recommendations that maintain the competitive positioning of Aviso pay structures and programs
  • Act as Chair of the Job Evaluation Committee, ensuring protocols are followed, new committee members are trained and organized, and job changes and structural updates are reflected in the HRIS
  • Working with Aviso’s external vendors, oversee the program governance and delivery of the Company’s benefit, disability, medical accommodation and retirement savings programs. This includes creating and maintaining program documentation and resources to support organizational awareness/education
  • Play a lead role in the development, adoption and ongoing operation of Aviso’s enterprise recognition strategy and program. This includes conceptualizing and developing frameworks, managing program budgets, integrating recognition into broader total reward strategy, defining and leveraging metrics and KPIs and training/communicating with stakeholders to drive a culture of recognition
  • Monitor external legislative and the competitive environment to ensure compliance with applicable laws across Canada and identify trends and opportunities in the rewards landscape. Oversee all Aviso Pay Transparency and Pay Equity reviews and filings, including datal collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement and training and reporting/communication of results
  • Act as a strategic partner on Total Rewards related matters to leaders across the organization

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or a related discipline required; or the equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Completed or working towards Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is an asset
  • 7+ years of progressive experience within Total Rewards with at least 2 years of experience in a Total Rewards management role
  • Experience managing the implementation and ongoing operation of an HR system interfaced enterprise level recognition program and driving an organization’s recognition strategy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS systems and compensation analysis tools. Experience working with compensation planning tools, reporting tools and/or using Workday are assets
  • Comprehensive understanding of job evaluation, job families, salary structures, incentive plan design, pay equity and recognition. Experience implementing new job structures is an asset
  • Experience analyzing, evaluating and administering health benefit, retirement, wellness, paid time off, medical accommodation and perquisite plans
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability in Excel to manage and analyze large data sets, write complex formulas and develop impactful reporting
  • Knowledgeable in market surveys, analytics, and compliance programs such as pay equity and pay transparency
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is an asset
  • Proactive self-starter who can approach challenges with curiosity, pulling insights from multiple data points, and distilling them into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Ability to build reward programs that are inclusive, scalable and meet the future needs of Aviso
  • Influencer who is skilled at working across functions, building alignment when perspectives differ, and actively seeking input to strengthen outcomes
  • Consultative and collaborative communication style with the ability to translate complex concepts and information in a manner that is meaningful for the audience
  • Ability to look beyond Total Rewards to understand how the team's work drives broader organizational goals
  • Possess project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with tact and professionalism
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $110,000 - $125,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.

Skills Required
