What Will You Be Doing?

Provide oversight, leadership, direction, and guidance to the Tooling department personnel. Responsible for Frontier’s Tool Control and development of relevant policies and procedures, training, operational analysis. Upholds Frontier Airlines policy to have a tool management and control program that meet the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations. Tooling is controlled to ensure its safety, calibration and condition to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements

Essential Functions

  • Ensure the designated Tool Supervisors maintains an accurate inventory of tools at their location.
  • Communicate with planning and maintenance departments to forecast tooling availability issues.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all inputs to the Master Equipment and Tool Calibration Log, Periodic Maintenance and Periodic Inspection Maintenance Tasks in the FMIS, Locally Manufactured Tooling Records and Archives, and Master Tool List Serialization Control.
  • Track all calibrated tooling in Frontier-staffed maintenance stations companywide.
  • Control proper staggering of calibrated tooling due dates on like tooling.
  • Conduct lost and found tool investigations and complete associated reports. including daily tool control and accountability.
  • Coordinate with each location's Tool Supervisor and the Repair and Warranty department on all repairs and calibration needs for all tooling
  • Coordinate with each location's Tool Supervisor on movement of tools between Location within the Company and with approved contract vendors.
  • Coordinate, through Frontier Supply Chain Management, the purchase and external repair of tools through approved vendors.
  • Ensure that department personnel, including themselves, are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform assigned tasks.
  • Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in the GMM 100.03: Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position.
  • Report any irregularities in responsibilities to the Manager of Material Services and the Director of Quality Assurance/Chief Inspector.
  • Transport aircraft parts and tooling between hangar and flight line.
  • All other duties as reasonably requested by the Manager of Material Services.

Other Functions

  • Holds authority over Tool Supervisors at all locations and Material Services Specialist and Lead Material Specialist in DEN.
  • Has authority for Audit Checks.
  • Has authority to send material as COMAT.
  • Has authority to create requisitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required. 3+ years of equivalent experience working in a Maintenance / Tooling department environment considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • 2 years of experience working in a Maintenance / Tooling department environment required.
  • Prior airline experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License for SIDA Badge driving privileges at Denver International Airport.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer systems proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and understand department system applications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements associated with Part 121 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, CFR 49 and IATA regulations.
  • Ability to interact constructively with employees to ensure project completion.
  • Strong ability in problem solving and developing corrective actions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Must demonstrate behavior that portrays the company core values of Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value, and Passion while communicating with personnel and acting on behalf of the company.

Physical Effort

Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

Supervision Received

General Direction:  The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $96,331. Please note: this posting has a closing date of on or before midnight 6.30.26 MT.
